Guidelines for working with the People Link Corp

Thank you for choosing The People Link for your employment needs. We will do our best to help you fill the position(s) you have open. Following are some guidelines regarding our working relationship. We ask that you observe these to make the relationship a mutually beneficial experience to the end of fulfilling your employment request. Realize that recruitment is a team effort. We form a team and working together in alignment with these guidelines will ensure success with this project.

Always keep the communications moving. Realize that when you hire The People Link to help you find your new employee, we go to work for you. We spend money on advertising your open position(s) on various on-line resources; we spend time researching and interviewing possible candidates. Very important: Should you hire someone that we sent to you, or through any other means, call us immediately. It will help us by not wasting time and money.

Scheduling interviews. Part of my job is to keep track of interviews that are done between you the employer and the candidate I present to you, so that I can assist should anything happen before or at the scheduled time. Maybe the candidate got stuck in traffic and will be late, maybe something else came up and she can't make it, etc. I will facilitate and get any such kinks handled so that time isn't wasted. I will propose to you, the employer, dates and times when the candidate is available for an interview and I need you to pick a time, or propose a different time, and let me know and I will coordinate and set up the interview. Also, be sure to let me know whether the interview will be a phone call, a Zoom meeting or an in person meeting. For in person meeting I will need to confirm the address where the meeting will take place and with whom. So be sure to keep me updated accordingly.

Provide us with feedback. After your interview with the candidate, call us or email and let us know your feedback on the candidate. We need to know your positive or negative feedback and of course if you are interested in hiring them. That way we can fine tune our search and it will let us know if we are succeeding.

Let us know if there is any change to the open position(s). Again, this has to do with keeping the communication moving. If, through some internal reorganization or otherwise, you do not need to fill the position that you gave us to work on anymore, call us or email immediately. It will help us by not wasting time and money on something that is no longer needed.

Always return phone calls, text messages and e-mails as soon as possible. We believe in operating at a fast pace. The quicker we get responses to our inquiries, the faster we will find your new employee.

Let us know if you will be away for some period of time. Very important, if you are leaving on vacation, an emergency, a conference or for some other reason, please let us know when and for how long you will be away, and if there is someone else we should work with in the meantime. It is very disheartening to try and set up an interview with a really good candidate only to find out that you will not be there. In many cases candidates have been lost to someone else in such circumstances.

Let us know if you have resumes or applications from candidates that you intend to contact. We have a paragraph in the agreement covering prior candidate contact (Paragraph 2.8). Essentially, if we present a candidate whom you have previously received a resume or application from, but with whom you have not been in active contact during the preceding 60 days, the placement fee will apply if you hire that candidate.

To prevent duplicate submissions and streamline the hiring process, please let us know which candidates have already applied or submitted resumes for this position. This allows us to avoid contacting those individuals and helps ensure an efficient recruiting process for everyone involved.

What to expect from us. When we have everything we need to start work on your request you will get a confirmation that we have started. Then it may take a few days or it may take a few weeks before we find someone suitable to present to you. With the volume of requests we are currently handling it is not feasible to send a status email saying we do not have anyone, but feel free to contact us for an update. As soon as we have someone to present you will hear from us. If we have not been in contact for about 4 weeks we will send a status update and ask if there has been any changes on your part.

Here is a recent blog post that explains how to make an offer to a candidate that will be accepted.
The ONLY Way to Make an Offer to a Job Applicant
Please read this over as well, it is the make break point of getting your offers accepted.

We are doing our best to find someone for you quickly, but sometimes it takes longer. Just know that we are working for you.
