HIREnews | what's going on.

Although recruitment is extremely important to a company's future, hiring doesn't have to be a long, drawn-out or tedious process, especially if you have the right attitude. It's like Grant Cardone always says, "Approach every situation with a whatever-it-takes-mindset." Doing so can only lead to success in your future. It's that positive frame of mind and unwavering determination that will allow you to reach your hiring goals. And remember...The People Link is here to help!

What Factors Make Job Seekers Most Likely to Apply
When looking for potential candidates to fill an open position, it’s not always easy to know exactly what to say in order to get job seekers to apply. You can guess. You can hope your ad highlights factors important to job seekers, but how can you really know what matters most? What’s going to set your ad out above the others? Well, we know...

Danger of Delays During The Hiring Process
Finding the right applicant is not the end of the hiring process, it's just the beginning. Once you've found the individual you think would be a perfect match, you've got to move fast. Unnecessary delays mean you not only risk losing out to your competition, but you may end up leaving a key position unfilled, which could seriously impact your bottom line.

Let the candidate know (in no uncertain terms) you are interested. Be sure you know what they need in terms of compensation, benefits, schedule, etc. and then make an offer. Don't hem and haw. Don't waste time. You need to remember, this person is looking for work and, in most cases, wanting to start right away. The longer you wait, the more likely it is the applicant will find another position. Make an offer before it's too late or you may lose out on a potentially valuable member of your team.

"Our new employee is doing great and patients really like him. I can say that Mya listened to my needs and was able to find a candidate to fit my clinic's profile. She did not waste my time with candidates that did not meet our needs."

You and Your Recruiter
When working with a recruiter, or even doing recruitment on your own, communication is key. Even if you run into bumps along the way, say something. Let your recruiter and/or your candidate know what is happening. When you don't communicate, the other person may either think everything is rolling along smoothly or you have lost interest, so he or she will move on.

Having worked in the industry for more than 20 years, I've seen this happen all too often. Companies in need lose out on great applicants simply because they lose touch. They don't keep their recruiter and/or job applicant informed about what's happening in the hiring process. In hiring, more communication is always better than less. No reason to lose out simply because you didn't pick up the phone or send an email to keep all interested parties in the loop.
