    You must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and an accredited nurse practitioner program.
  • Cert/Lic Required:
    You need to have a current Nurse Practitioner certification in your specialty area.
  • Computer Skills Required:
    We use GE Centricity.
  • Special Requirements:
    • You need to have an on-going BLS Certification within 90 days of hire. • National Provider Identification (NPI) and Taxonomy codes are required at time of hire. • Full or Provisional Prescriptive authority required. You must obtain Full Prescriptive Authority within two years of hire date. • You need to have an active DEA Registration Certification by start date.

Nurse Practitioner Job in a Rapidly Expanding Surgery Practice

In this position you will work with our Physicians and other staff in the treatment of our patients.

You'll obtain a pertinent medical history, perform an appropriate physical examination and review relevant laboratory or radiologic (or other) studies to assess the patient's medical, physical, psychological and relevant socio-economic status.  

Other job duties will include:

Preparing and completing pre-operative documentation
Acute care of injuries, fractures and trauma
Acute and chronic pain management
Management of chronic medically-related orthopedic conditions (with examples):
o Metabolic disorders (osteoporosis)
o Degenerative disorders (osteoarthritis)
o Inflammatory disorders (rheumatoid arthritis)
o Neuromuscular disorders (multiple sclerosis, stroke)
o Oncologic disorders (bone cancer)
o Congenital pediatric disorders (congenital hip dysplasia)

Prevention, early recognition and treatment of orthopedic complications
Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests
Preoperative care
Casting and splinting
Treatment and closure of wounds
Rehabilitative therapy regimens
Patient education
Work restrictions/Activity restrictions
Injury prevention/Fall prevention
Multi-disciplinary collaboration
