Update on prevailing wages.
From time to time we do an analysis of what average wages are being paid for various types of positions and we'd like to pass on our latest review to you. Based on placements made and requests from both job seekers and employers, here are the results from the last 6 months, covering a few select jobs. 

For an Office Manager in a company of 5 - 20 staff, who has 1 - 3 years experience, the average wages paid were $30,000 - $35,000. 
With 5 - 10 years experience the average wages paid were $35,000 - $50,000.
For a company of more than 20 staff, the average wages paid were $50,000 - $80,000. This size company requires 5 - 10 years experience or more.

For a Human Resources Manager in a company of 5 - 20 staff, who has 1 - 3 years experience, the average wages paid were $40,000 - $50,000. 
With 5 - 10 years experience the average wages paid were $45,000 - $55,000. 
For a company of more than 20 staff, the average wages paid were $55,000 - $70,000. If this position also includes doing technical recruitment, the average wages paid were $80,000 - $120,000. 

For a Controller in a company of 5 - 20 staff, who has 1 - 3 years experience, the average wages paid were $40,000 - $60,000. 
With 5 - 10 years experience the average wages paid were $50,000 - $70,000. 
For a company of more than 20 staff, the average wages paid were $50,000 - $100,000. 
The Controller position would involve financial management and analysis. For the small company the Controller was also doing the Full Charge Bookkeeper duties. 

For a Treasury clerk handling Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll and Banking, the average wages paid were $12.00 - $15.00 per hour. 
To hire an independent contractor doing these Treasury functions, the average rate was $20 - $40 per hour. 

For a Full Charge Bookkeeper handling all of Treasury but no management duties, the average wages paid were $35,000 - $55,000. 

For Computer related jobs, Computer Technicians servicing pc's and/or Mac's, current software and networks, with 1 - 3 years experience the average wages paid were $12.00 - $20.00 per hour. 
With certification the average wages were $15.00 - $25.00 per hour. 

For programmers, software engineers and analysts, with 1 - 3 years experience in current technologies (C/C++, Java, HTML, XML, VB etc) the average wages paid were $65,000 - $75,000. With 4 years and more experience the average wages paid were $75,000 - $120,000. The better paid programmers stay up to date on current technologies.
